Manufacturing and processing: AI enquiry assistant for stone fabricators
An AI enquiry assistant for stone fabricators that answers questions on care, stains and cleaning of natural stone with your own approved advice, and passes anything uncertain to a craftsperson.
Which questions stone fabricators keep getting.
After delivery, stone fabricators receive the same questions over and over. Which cleaner can I use on my bluestone windowsill, why is there a dull patch on my marble, should I seal my granite. Some can be answered with standard advice, but others need judgement: a lemon juice ring on marble is not the same as a crack near the sink. The questions arrive by email, phone and the contact form, often out of hours, and get answered by whoever happens to have time. So one customer gets different advice from the next, and the workshop misses messages that might point to a warranty claim.

Approve care advice per stone
The assistant only uses advice you have signed off: for each material and finish, what to do and avoid, which products are suitable and when sealing makes sense. That advice sits in a list the workshop maintains. Anything not in it, the assistant does not answer on its own.
Identify the question and stone
If the message does not say, the assistant first asks which stone and finish are involved, and possibly for a photo. If the customer is unsure, a delivery address or order number can help. It then finds the matching advice and gives it back in plain language, citing the source.
Answer or hand to a person
For everyday care the assistant answers directly. For damage, a crack, discolouration that will not shift or anything that might indicate a manufacturing fault, it says a member of staff will take a look and passes the question on with the photo. The customer is told when to expect a reply.
On your own information, with a person behind it.
Care advice at stone fabricators often lives in a leaflet handed over at fitting, on a page of the website or only in the workshop's heads. We combine it into one approved source the assistant draws on, which you can edit without help. Questions that are handed over arrive in the inbox or system where customer messages already land. Customers keep ownership of their photos; assessing damage stays with your craftspeople.
General advice or job specific
An assistant with general advice per material is quick to set up and helps every visitor. One that knows the customer's job can answer more precisely, but needs access to job data and must identify the customer first. Many firms start general and add job knowledge for customers who log in through the portal.
Naming cleaning products or not
Naming specific products helps the customer but ties you to products that change or that you do not sell. Describing only what a product should and should not contain is safer but less practical. The choice is yours and the assistant follows it: it only mentions what is in the approved advice.
Judge damage or always escalate
A photo of a mark can sometimes be recognised straight away as limescale that will come off. But wrong advice on an expensive slab makes things worse. So we have the assistant pass every kind of damage to a member of staff, even when the answer seems obvious.

The assistant gets one approved advice source on everyday care of the stone types you supply most, and passes damage and doubt to a colleague. Before customers see it, we ask a simple question together about cleaning granite, and send a photo of a stain on marble that is not a standard case. Job-specific knowledge for logged-in customers and an overview of frequent questions you switch on later.

Explore pricing and optionsCould the assistant give the wrong care advice?
It only gives advice you have approved and offers no interpretation of its own on damage or doubt. A customer may still name the wrong stone, though. So when unsure, the assistant asks about the finish or for a photo, and hands over if the answer is not clear.
What happens to questions out of hours?
The assistant answers care questions in the evening and at weekends too. Questions it passes on wait in the workshop's queue until someone looks at them. The customer is told a person will follow up and roughly when to expect a reply.
Does the assistant recognise a possible warranty claim?
It does not decide whether something is a claim, but it recognises signals such as a crack, a failing join or discolouration soon after delivery. Those questions are always passed on with photo and description, flagged so the workshop sees it may be a complaint.
Can we see which questions come up most?
Yes. An overview shows which topics are asked about often and for which materials. If a question keeps recurring, you can adjust the care advice given at handover or clarify the leaflet. Questions that are always handed over show where the approved advice still has a gap.
