Business supplies and services: Operations dashboard for window display companies
An operations dashboard for window display companies that shows per campaign and branch where installation departs from the plan, and which job card or report lies behind it.
Which figures window display companies really need.
After a few campaigns, a window display company often has a gut feeling about which stores are difficult, but not why. Is it access that keeps slipping later, a window size that is wrong in the retailer's records, or materials leaving the warehouse late? The data is spread across the board, job cards and inventory, and rarely laid side by side. Meanwhile a retailer asks at the review why certain branches needed a return visit. A dashboard should show per branch how often the plan was missed, at which point and for what reason, so the cause can be tackled directly.

From scattered figures to one overview.
Define a deviation clearly
First we agree what counts as a deviation: an install that overran its slot, an element not placed, a return visit or material missing from the loading list. Each deviation gets a fixed reason from the same list stylists use on the job card, so the board and the job card measure the same thing.
Connect schedule, cards and stock
The dashboard reads the scheduled slots, the job cards with deviation reasons and the stock movements per campaign. Each branch builds up a history: when the crew was there, what was placed, what was missing and why. Nothing is retyped; the data comes from the sources the team already works in.
Investigate patterns per branch
For a branch that stands out, the project lead clicks through to the underlying job cards and photos. If a window size is consistently wrong, they correct it in the branch details. If late access is the recurring cause, they raise it with the retailer, using the job cards as evidence.
Figures from your own work.
Display studios usually put together campaign reviews by hand, from photos and crew leads' memories. The dashboard uses the scheduling, job card and inventory data already being recorded and asks for no extra input. Retailers sometimes hold their own data, such as sales per branch during the campaign; that stays with them and is only added if they supply it. You own the installation data and decide what is shared with the retailer.
Internal dashboard or retailer view too
An internal dashboard can be honest about your own mistakes, such as wrongly packed materials. A retailer version focuses on what was agreed: installed on time, deviations with reasons and remedies. Two views on the same data save you editing a report before it can go to the client.
Per campaign or per branch over time
A campaign overview shows how a rollout went as a whole. The per branch view across several campaigns reveals patterns a single campaign hides, such as a store where access always overruns. Both have their place; a review with the retailer usually starts with the campaign and ends with the branches that stand out.
Many charts or a few fixed questions
A dashboard packed with charts stops being opened after a while. A small set of fixed questions works better: which branches had a deviation, which reason came up most and which stores got a return visit. Anyone wanting more detail clicks through to the job cards. New questions are added when they genuinely recur.
Which figures we put on the dashboard.
At the start the dashboard shows the fixed list of deviation reasons, an overview per campaign and per branch, and click through to job cards and photos. Together we check it with the data from a completed ordinary campaign, and with a campaign in which one region had many return visits. A view for the retailer and an overview of stock problems that led to deviations in the stores can be switched on later.

Explore pricing and optionsDo we have enough data to get started?
After one campaign with digital job cards you already have plan and delivery side by side for each branch. Patterns over time emerge after several campaigns. Older spreadsheet reviews can be imported if they are structured per branch, but that is not a condition for starting.
Can we see deviations per stylist or crew?
Technically yes, but it is worth asking whether you want to. Deviations often have causes outside the crew, such as late access or wrong sizes. We suggest starting with branches and reasons. If you later want to look per crew, discuss that with the team first.
How do we share results with a retailer?
Through a view that only shows what was agreed with that retailer, leaving out internal reasons such as packing errors. You can place it in the customer portal or export it as a report for a review meeting, and you decide which data the retailer gets to see.
What if stylists do not report deviations consistently?
Then the dashboard is less reliable, and you need to know that. It therefore also shows which job cards were closed without a placement photo or deviation reason. That usually signals the reason list does not match practice, in which case we adjust the list.
