Manufacturing and processing: AI enquiry assistant for textile printers
An AI enquiry assistant for textile printers that answers questions on artwork files, resolution and colours from your own approved specifications, and passes uncertain cases to artwork.
Which questions textile printers keep getting.
The question textile printers hear most is not about price but about files. What format should the logo be, is an image from the website good enough, what is a vector file and why was my design rejected. Artwork answers these by email, often with the same explanation, while print work waits. Clients who do not follow the answer send a second unusable file. Some questions really are bespoke: a design with gradients on dark fabric, or a logo with hairlines that will fill in on screen print. Those belong with a specialist but get lost among the routine questions.

Approve artwork specifications
The assistant works from specifications you sign off: accepted file types, minimum resolution, how text should be supplied and what differs per method. Those specifications live in a list artwork maintains. Questions outside them, the assistant does not answer on its own.
Assess the file and question
When a client asks about a file, the assistant first asks which method and garment are involved, if that is not yet known. If the client uploads a file, the assistant can point out simple issues such as low resolution or a missing transparent background, based on the recorded specifications.
Explain or hand over
For routine questions the assistant gives a short explanation with a link to the specifications. When the question is whether a design is technically printable, such as gradients, fine lines or many colours, it passes the question and file to artwork. The client is told a specialist will look and when to expect an answer.
On your own information, with a person behind it.
At textile printers, artwork specifications often sit on a page of the site, in a PDF or only in the artwork team's heads. We turn them into one approved source the assistant draws on and artwork can edit themselves. Handed over questions arrive in the inbox or order system artwork already uses. Client files remain the client's and are stored with the question. Judging printability stays with your people.
Check files automatically or not
An automatic check on resolution and file type catches the most common mistakes before anyone looks. But a check cannot judge whether a design will look good printed. So the assistant limits itself to what can be measured objectively, and judgement on the design stays with artwork.
Offer artwork help or refer
Many clients have no usable file and nobody to make one. The assistant can explain that you offer artwork services and roughly what they involve, if that is in the approved information. Whether you offer that or prefer to refer elsewhere is a choice you set in advance.
Website only or in the order flow
An assistant on the website helps visitors before they enquire. One in the portal or at upload can answer questions at the moment the file is supplied. The second prevents more mistakes but needs the assistant to know the order. Start where most questions arrive today.

Based on approved specifications per technique, the assistant answers questions about file types, resolution, text and colour, names simple file problems and passes printability questions to artwork. Before going live, we let it help a customer who wants to use a logo from their website, and a design full of gradients for a dark polyester shirt. The assistant at upload and an overview of recurring questions you switch on later.

Explore pricing and optionsCan the assistant say whether a design will print well?
No. It can point out objective things such as resolution or file type, but whether a design looks good printed is for artwork to judge. As soon as a question is about printability, the assistant passes it on with the file attached.
What if a client does not have a vector file?
The assistant explains what a vector file is and why it is needed, and asks whether the client might get one from whoever designed their logo. If you offer redrawing, it says so, using the information you have approved about it.
Does the assistant give pricing information?
Only if you include it in the approved source. For most textile printers price depends on design and quantity, so the assistant points to the enquiry form instead. That way no promises are made about amounts that later turn out wrong.
Can we see which file problems come up most?
Yes. An overview shows which questions and problems recur, such as low resolution or missing fonts. You can use that to improve the specifications on the site or adjust the upload form, so the same mistake arrives less often and artwork gets time back.
