Mixing compound for stock is efficient for frequently used formulations, but compound has a limited shelf life. Mixing per order prevents waste but needs tight coordination with production. Record per compound which approach applies and let the schedule take it into account, so nothing is mixed blind.

Yes. Per mould and press you can record a changeover time, including heat-up and the first rejected parts. The schedule uses it, so a changeover does not eat time invisibly. You can adjust those times based on what actually happens.
Can the schedule tell when compound has been sitting too long?
If compound batches are tracked with their mixing date, the schedule warns when a batch approaches its shelf life. The planner can then bring the order forward or decide the batch should no longer be used. The mixer sees the same warning.
Does this work alongside our ERP system?
Yes. Orders and items stay in the ERP system. The schedule reads them in and adds what the system lacks, such as moulds and compound shelf life. A confirmed schedule can be passed back to the system if you want.
Do operators see the schedule on the floor?
Yes, on a screen by the presses or lines. They see which order and mould come next, along with the expected changeover time. Only the planner makes changes, so there are never different versions of the sequence going round.
