Construction and installation: Digital job cards for facade cleaning contractors
Digital job cards for facade cleaning contractors with the approved test area, the facade sections and work agreements, so the crew works towards the result the owner signed off.
What a job card for facade cleaning contractors should hold.
For facade cleaning contractors the test area is the agreement, but on the working day that agreement often lives only in the planner's head. The crew knows it is the front elevation, but not which dilution or pressure worked on the test area, that the stone sills must not be treated or that the owner accepted slight residual staining around the downpipe. Which agents were used per section is not recorded. When the owner later complains about a stain or a washed-out joint, nobody can trace what happened to that section that day.

Prepare test area and sections
The job card holds the approved test area with photo, method and settings, plus the list of facade sections with method, agents and points of attention for each. The work agreements are on it too: which windows are covered, where run-off water goes and which parts are outside the order.
Record per facade section
During the work the crew records for each section which agents were used, any deviations and before and after photos. If a spot reacts differently, such as an old repair in the pointing, the crew leader raises a report with a photo rather than carrying on by feel.
Hand over to the owner
Afterwards the crew leader walks the facade with the owner or manager and compares the result with the test area. Finished sections are signed off one by one. Where the result falls short, it is noted with a photo and an agreement on whether a second pass follows.
No more paper and loose photos.
At many facade cleaning contractors a job card is now a paper form or a message in a group chat. The test area and quote come from the planning office; the job card reads them in directly, so the crew sees the same agreements. Safety data sheets for agents stay with your supplier or in your own documentation, with a link from the job card. The signed card with photos per section is the basis for the invoice and for questions afterwards.
Record per section or per day
Recording per working day is simple but says little when a question arises about one section. Recording per section takes a bit more effort but makes clear which agents were used where. For facades with mixed materials, per section is nearly always the better choice, and it helps a great deal if a complaint follows.
Photos of every section or a sample
Before and after photos of every section give the most to go on, but take time on a cherry picker. A sample saves time but leaves gaps. A middle way is at least one before and after shot per section from the ground, plus close-ups where something deviates, which keeps work at height moving.
Report residual soiling or treat again
With stubborn soiling the crew can choose another pass or leave what remains. Treating again can damage soft stone. Reporting and agreeing it with the owner is safer, especially if the test area showed some staining will not fully disappear. That agreement is noted on the job card.
How it already runs at similar businesses.
What goes on the job card.
At the start the job card holds the test area, the facade sections with records and photos per section, and handover with sign off per section. With the crew leaders we walk through two jobs: a brick facade where everything follows the test area, and one where an old pointing repair reacts differently and the crew has to stop. Second passes that land straight in the schedule and tracking agents used per job come in once the crews are used to the card.

Explore pricing and optionsCan the crew use the job card on a cherry picker?
Yes, it works on a phone in a protective case and needs little typing. Recording is a few choices and a photo. Anyone who prefers to fill it in on the ground can do so after each section. Without signal, everything is kept until reception returns.
How do we see which agents were used per section?
For each section the crew picks the agent from a list belonging to the job, with any change in dilution. You can later look up what was used on the stone plinth and what on the brickwork.
What if the owner is absent at handover?
The crew leader records the handover with photos per section and sends the client a message with the result and any open points. The client can respond or approve, and until then the job card stays open.
Can the job card help if someone later claims damage?
The job card shows what was done per section, with which agents and with before and after photos. That gives a factual basis for the conversation. Whether a claim is justified remains a judgement, but with good records nobody has to rely on memory.
