Construction and installation: Scheduling software for EV charger installers
Scheduling software for EV charger installers that matches electricians, groundwork and parking closures on business sites to available supply and the customer's diary.
What makes scheduling hard for EV charger installers.
For EV charger installers an installation day depends on more than an electrician's diary. The charger must be in stock, the network operator sometimes has to upgrade the supply first, a groundworker has to dig a trench, and on a business site or in a car park spaces have to be closed off for a day. In an apartment block, the building manager has to arrange access. Forget one of those steps and the electrician arrives at a locked gate, a car in the space or a board without the necessary upgrade. Meanwhile lease drivers ask when their charger is coming, and the planner does not know because the answer lies with three other parties.

Record what each job needs
DoneEach job gets its own steps: supply upgrade or not, digging or not, closure of parking spaces, delivery of chargers and any access arrangement.
- 2
Make waiting visible
In progressThe planner sees which jobs are waiting on the network operator, on delivery or on approval from a residents' association, and since when.

Confirm closures and access
NextFor business sites and car parks the planner asks the site manager to confirm the closure and access.
From job to confirmed appointment.
Record what each job needs
Each job gets its own steps: supply upgrade or not, digging or not, closure of parking spaces, delivery of chargers and any access arrangement. Each step says who carries it out and what must be done first. The electrician's day can only be fixed once all earlier steps have a confirmed date.
Make waiting visible
The planner sees which jobs are waiting on the network operator, on delivery or on approval from a residents' association, and since when. That separates work that can be scheduled from work that cannot yet. When a driver calls, the office sees at once what the job is waiting for instead of giving a vague date.
Confirm closures and access
For business sites and car parks the planner asks the site manager to confirm the closure and access. That confirmation sits with the job, along with the name of the contact on site. The electrician is only assigned once it is settled, and sees at the address where to report and which spaces are free.
Alongside your calendar and your team.
The schedule now often lives in a shared calendar, with upgrade status in email and deliveries on an order list. The scheduling software reads jobs from the quoting or admin software and lead times from purchase orders. Electricians keep their calendars on their phones. The planner owns sequence and dates, the network operator its own schedule, and the site manager access and closures. External groundworkers confirm their date through a link.
Schedule per address or cluster by region
Home chargers for lease drivers are spread out. Clustering by region saves travel but makes some drivers wait longer. Scheduling per address is faster for the customer and costlier in mileage. The software can group ready jobs by region and show which driver ends up later as a result, so the planner chooses deliberately.
Own groundwork or outsourced
Your own crew for short trenches gives control over the schedule but is not needed every day. Longer routes under car parks are often outsourced. The software treats both as a step with a confirmed date, so the electrician never arrives before the trench is dug, whoever digs it.
Deliver in one day or in phases
A home charger is done in a day. A car park with many spaces often is not, so it is handed over in phases, per row or per level. Phases keep the car park usable and spread the closures, but each phase must make clear which spaces are finished. On business sites it is often practical to work outside peak hours or at weekends.

What we set up in the schedule.
For scheduling we record the steps per job, make waiting jobs visible and have the confirmation of closures and access ready. Before you switch over, we schedule a week full of home chargers together, plus a business site where the parking closure moves at the last minute. Regional clustering and a status overview for employers and lease companies can be switched on afterwards, so the office gets fewer scheduling questions.

Explore pricing and optionsCan a lease driver pick a day themselves?
For simple home chargers that need nothing else, the driver can choose from available days. If the job is still waiting on delivery or the network operator, that is not possible and the driver sees what it is waiting for. Nobody picks a date that has to move later.
How do we know when the network operator has finished?
The planner records the application with the date and the expected lead time as stated by the operator. Once the upgrade is done, someone marks the step complete, either the customer reporting it or the office after checking. Only then does the electrician's day open up.
What if a reserved space is occupied on the day?
The electrician reports it from the site. The planner calls the contact, and if the space does not come free quickly, the work is moved. The incident is recorded on the job, so the next closure is handled better, for instance with tape put up the evening before.
Can we see how many jobs are waiting for deliveries?
Yes. The overview shows per charger model how many jobs are waiting on delivery and when the supplier promised it. When there is a delay you can inform customers specifically and, where agreed with them, propose an alternative model.
