Transport and delivery: Quotation software for boat transporters
Quotation software for boat transporters that puts route distance, trailer choice, lifting arrangements and any escort into one proposal, with the assumptions behind the price spelled out.
Where quotes for boat transporters get stuck.
The price of moving a boat depends on far more than miles. A wide hull may need a different route or an escort, a location without a crane means hiring a mobile one, and a mast travelling separately takes extra load space. At many boat transporters, that calculation lives in the owner's head or an old spreadsheet. The quote then gives a total without saying what is and is not included. If the crane is not ready on the day or the boat turns out wider, an argument follows about extra work nobody named in advance.

From enquiry to signed quote.
Take assumptions from the enquiry
The quote starts with the enquiry data: boat type, hull dimensions, weight, pickup and delivery locations and the lifting options at both. Sales fills in what is missing, such as the expected route for a wide load or who lowers the mast. Each assumption carries a short note, so it is clear later what the price was based on.
Price route, trailer and lifting
The calculation uses your own rates for distance, trailer type and time. Lifting is listed separately: your own crane, a hired mobile crane or a lift by the marina. Where the beam may require a permit or escort, that appears as a separate line. Sales sees at once what a different trailer or route does to the result.
Fix the proposal and its limits
The proposal states the price together with its assumptions, such as the dimensions given, who arranges the crane and how long the driver waits at each location before waiting time is charged. The owner approves it online. If an assumption proves wrong on the day, everyone can see the difference will be settled separately.
Alongside your calculations and price lists.
At boat transporters, rates for distance, trailers and crane work often sit in a spreadsheet or in loose arrangements with crane firms and marinas. We bring those rates together in one place, so every quote starts from the same basis. Data from the enquiry form pre-fills the proposal. After approval, the terms pass on to planning and invoicing. Quotes from hired crane firms can be stored as attachments to the proposal.
Fixed price or hourly rate
A fixed price gives the owner certainty and is easy to compare. For runs with plenty of uncertainty, such as a hard-to-reach location, an hourly rate can be fairer. Many boat transporters choose a fixed price for the transport itself and an hourly charge for waiting time beyond an agreed limit.
Arranging the crane or leaving it
Some owners arrange the lift at their own marina, others want everything from one source. Arranging the crane yourself gives you control over timing but also carries the risk if it breaks down. The quote makes responsibility explicit, so there is no confusion on the day about who is waiting for whom.
Return run separate or combined
A run to winter storage in autumn and back in spring can be two separate quotes or one arrangement. A combined deal gives the owner peace of mind and you a filled spring schedule. It does need to be clear what happens if the owner sells in the meantime or wants a different marina.

Quotes for road transport within your service area are ready: assumptions from the enquiry, calculation on route, trailer and lifting, and online approval by the owner. Our setup follows your rates. Together we price an ordinary launch between two marinas with cranes, and a wide motor yacht that needs a mobile crane and possibly an escort. Trips abroad and combined autumn and spring bookings are switched on when you offer them.

Explore pricing and optionsCan we pass on a third party's crane costs?
Yes. Lifting by a hired crane firm appears as a separate line, based on their price or a fixed mark-up you apply. The crane firm's quote can be stored as an attachment. The owner then sees what they pay for lifting and what for the transport itself.
What if the boat turns out wider than stated?
The quote lists the stated dimensions as an assumption. If the boat is wider on the day and needs a different trailer or route, that is a demonstrable deviation. The difference is settled separately, and the proposal says so in advance, so the owner is not caught off guard.
Should we mention waiting time in the quote?
It is sensible. You set how long the driver waits at a location before waiting time starts, and at what rate. That gives the owner a reason to have the boat ready, and you a clear basis if the crane or marina runs late.
Can the owner approve the quote online?
Yes. The owner receives a link, sees the price with every assumption and approves with name and date. If they have questions or want a change, such as a different pickup date, they leave a comment that goes straight to sales. The approval is stored with the quote.
