Transport and delivery: Customer portal for boat transporters
A customer portal for boat transporters where owners and yards complete boat details, follow the status of their run and find handover photos after delivery.
What customers of boat transporters want to see.
A boat owner wants to know when the boat will be collected, whether the crane is arranged and what condition it was in on delivery. At boat transporters these questions arrive by phone or email, often several times per run. Meanwhile, the planner may still be missing details the owner has to supply, such as a photo of the keel or confirmation that the mast has been lowered. Handover photos are emailed afterwards when someone asks for them. Yards moving several boats want an overview of all their runs without phoning about each boat separately.

Access per owner or yard
Each owner sees only their own boats and runs. A yard or marina gets an overview of every boat it has moved, possibly with several users. The transporter decides who gets access and to what information. A broker moving a sold boat can be given temporary access to that one run.
Show details and status
Each boat shows the stated dimensions, photos and the chosen transport. The owner sees the run status: requested, scheduled, awaiting crane confirmation, on the road or delivered. If something is still missing, such as a photo of the lifting marks, it appears at the top as an open question that can be answered right there.
Link handover and responses
After delivery, the condition photos from loading and unloading appear in the portal with time and place. If the owner has a question or remark, they post it on the run and it reaches the planner. All communication about a run stays together instead of scattered across emails and phone calls.
Less email, the same records.
Run statuses come from scheduling, photos from the driver's job card and boat details from the enquiry. The portal displays that data without duplicating it. Yards with their own berth management system can receive an export or overview instead of portal access. The owner keeps ownership of the boat details; the transporter owns the run status and the photos taken during transport.
Portal account or messages by email
Many private owners move a boat once a year and do not want an account. A link per run without logging in can then be enough. Yards moving boats weekly benefit from a permanent portal with an overview. Both can exist side by side, drawing on the same data.
Share photos immediately or after review
Making handover photos available immediately is transparent and heads off questions. Sometimes, though, the planner wants to check a photo first, especially if it shows damage that already existed. A brief review before photos go live prevents alarm, but should never hold up sharing longer than necessary.
Owner or yard as the contact
When a boat is moved from a yard, it is not always clear who the contact is: the owner who pays or the yard preparing the boat. The portal can give both access with different rights. It must be clear per run who decides on a change, so the planner is not caught between two parties.

Owners and yards see their boats and trips in the portal, fill in missing details and view the handover photos after delivery. We prepare access for private owners and yards. Together we go through a private owner having a launch taken to winter storage and a yard moving three boats in the same week. Status change alerts, a seasonal overview for yards and temporary access for brokers are switched on later.

Explore pricing and optionsDoes an owner have to create an account?
Not necessarily. For a one-off run, a personal link showing status and photos can be enough. Yards and owners who move boats more often can get an account with an overview of all their boats. Both work from the same data.
Can an owner change details themselves?
They can fill in missing details and add photos. Changes to dimensions after the quote has been approved reach the planner as a notification, because they can affect trailer or price. That way nothing changes unnoticed in the background.
When does the owner see the handover photos?
Once the job card is closed, or earlier if you set it up that way. Some businesses want to check first, others share at once. The photos sit with the run, with time and place, and remain available if a question comes up later.
Can a yard see all of a client's boats?
A yard sees the boats it registered itself or those the owner has given it access to. The owner keeps control of their data, while the yard still has the overview it needs to prepare boats for collection.
