Business supplies and services: Operations dashboard for wayfinding companies
An operations dashboard for wayfinding companies that shows incorrect placements by location series, text errors and repair visits, with the cause and source behind each deviation.
Which figures wayfinding companies really need.
Wayfinding companies often only hear during a client walk-through that signs are hanging wrong. A projecting sign with an arrow pointing the wrong way, door signs shifted one door along a long corridor or a text with a spelling mistake that slipped through the proof. Each incident gets fixed, but nobody sees whether it happens more often in certain location series, with certain fitters or with a certain type of sign. Management sees revenue per project, not how many repair visits were needed. Without that view the same mistakes keep recurring, and repairs go uncharged even when they were really a text change by the client.

From scattered figures to one overview.
Agree error types
We agree which error types exist: wrong location, wrong arrow direction, text error in production, text error in the supplied copy, wrong height or damage during installation. We also define when an error counts as repaired. Every figure on the dashboard then means the same thing to everyone.
Link schedule, job card and portal
The dashboard takes error reports from job cards and the customer portal, and compares photos and statuses with the sign schedule. Every error can be traced to a location code, a location series, a sign type and a fitter or production order. Nothing is tracked twice in a separate list.
Investigate by series and sign type
If a location series or sign type stands out with many errors, you click through to the signs with their photos. You see whether it comes down to confusing floor plans, identical corridors, a production problem or a text proof that was not checked properly. That insight goes back to design, production or installation instructions.
Figures from your own work.
The data already lives in the sign schedule, job cards, the customer portal, the schedule and the accounting package. The dashboard reads those sources and asks for no new input. Each source remains the owner of its data. Where a cause is missing, the dashboard shows how many errors cannot be assigned instead of estimating them. That immediately shows where recording needs to improve.
Errors per series or per fitter
Errors per location series show which parts of buildings are tricky, which helps with clearer floor plans or extra labels. Errors per fitter can point to a training need, but quickly feel like blame. Use the per-fitter view for conversations about working methods, not as the only measure of quality.
Text errors on your side or the client's
A text error can arise in production or already sit in the supplied text the client approved. The distinction decides who pays for the repair and where improvement is needed. The dashboard shows both separately, so you can see whether the text proof or the production check needs work.
Alert immediately or review periodically
A project manager wants to know straight away when an error is reported on their project, so they can plan the repair. Management wants to see each quarter whether errors are falling and where they occur. Both use the same data, but with a different start screen and frequency.
Which figures we put on the dashboard.
Misplacements per location series and error type, text errors by cause and repair visits, with click through to location code and photo: the dashboard shows that from the start. Using data from a few completed projects, including one known to have needed a lot of repair, we check together whether the dashboard makes that visible. Cost per repair visit and a comparison per sign type and mounting system can be switched on later.

Explore pricing and optionsHow reliable is the dashboard if not every error is reported?
The dashboard only shows what is recorded in job cards and portal, and shows how many reports have no cause. Errors that are never reported stay invisible. That is why a standard walk-through at handover, comparing every sign with the schedule, helps.
Can we assign repair costs to the right party?
Yes, if the cause is recorded for each error. The dashboard shows repairs from your own errors separately from repairs caused by client changes. The latter can be passed to invoicing, so they are not carried out free of charge out of habit.
Does the client see this dashboard?
No, it is an internal tool. The client sees the signs and reports for their own building in the portal. Comparisons between projects, fitters and sign types stay internal, because they concern other clients and your own staff.
Who uses the dashboard most?
Project managers use it daily for open errors on their projects. The production manager looks at text and production errors. Management reviews trends each quarter. For each role we set up a start screen with the overview that matters to them.
What often connects to this.
- Digital job cards for wayfinding companiesDigital job cards for wayfinding companies that give fitters the sign schedule with location codes, arrow directions and mounting heights, and let them confirm per sign that it is correctly placed.
- Website for wayfinding companiesA website for wayfinding companies that explains sign types, mounting systems and how a wayfinding project runs to building managers, architects and developers who have choices to make.
- Enquiry form for wayfinding companiesAn enquiry form for wayfinding companies that collects the location list, sign text, floor plans and wall surfaces, so the project manager can judge what a project really involves.
