We replay an ordinary week together, and a weekend in which a lot of glassware comes back dirty and racks run out before the next order is packed. Yes. Breakage is written off per item with a reason: at the customer, on the washing line or during packing. Per collection you see how many pieces broke over a period and where. That helps decide whether a collection should be topped up or phased out.
What happens when an item is discontinued by the supplier?
The item can be marked as being phased out. Existing stock stays available for hire until it runs out, but the system shows how many complete place settings of that collection can still be made. The salesperson knows how large an order in that collection can still be.
Does the system track table linen as well?
Yes, as its own item group with size and colour. Linen has an extra status for the laundry: out, at the laundry and back. Stains that will not come out are written off. You can see whether there are enough clean tablecloths if the laundry delivers a day late.
How do we know how many empty crates are available?
Crates are issued and taken back just like tableware. On dispatch the system counts them out, on return it counts them back in. You can see how many empty crates and racks are in the warehouse to pack new orders.
