Repairs and specialist services: Scheduling software for shoe repair shops
Scheduling software for shoe repair shops that tracks each repairer's workload and gives an achievable completion date, keeping quick counter jobs apart from resoles that need drying and pressing time.
What makes scheduling hard for shoe repair shops.
In a shoe repair workshop, two kinds of work run side by side. Heel tips and small repairs are often done straight away while the customer waits or pops out for shopping. Resoling, zip replacement and stitching sit on the racks with a completion date. On busy days the quick jobs push the longer work aside, and the date on the stub turns out to be unachievable. Glue has to dry, a sole has to go under the press, and some repairs need a second pass the next day. Planning that from memory means promising dates you cannot meet, and the customer turns up for nothing.

From job to confirmed appointment.
Estimate work at intake
At intake, staff choose the type of repair, and the schedule knows roughly how much work it involves and whether drying or pressing time sits in between. A zip in a boot gets a different estimate from a full sole on welted shoes. Each pair gets a realistic picture of what it needs.
Propose a completion date
Based on what is already on the racks and who is working which day, the schedule proposes a completion date. Staff can accept or adjust it, for instance when the customer is in no hurry. Quick counter work is counted separately, so it does not quietly eat into resoling capacity.
Send the ready notice
When the pair is done, the repairer ticks it off and the customer gets a message that it is ready for collection. If the date slips, for example because a sole material has run out, staff see it in time and can give the customer a new date before they show up at the door.
Alongside your calendar and your team.
Most shoe repairers plan with the date on the stub and the order on the racks. That stays the physical basis; the schedule adds what the racks cannot show, such as how much work is already booked per day. The completion date goes on the same stub the customer takes away. Customer details for the message come from the till system or customer list, so phone numbers never have to be typed in again.
Fixed turnaround or per pair
A fixed turnaround for all resoles is easy to communicate, but unachievable in busy weeks and needlessly long in quiet ones. A completion date per pair based on what is on the racks is fairer. You can combine the two: a standard turnaround that the schedule adjusts when things get busy, so customers still hear a familiar answer.
While you wait or always drop off
Repairs on the spot make customers happy but pull the repairer off other work. Some shops keep set hours for while you wait jobs and take everything in outside those hours. The schedule shows how much time quick work really takes, so that choice rests on what actually happens rather than on a hunch.
One repairer or sharing the work
In a small shop one person does everything. With two or more repairers you can split work by what each does best, such as stitching or resoling. The schedule shows each person's load, so nobody is overwhelmed while a colleague sits through a quiet afternoon with nothing on the bench.

The schedule estimates working time per type of repair, proposes a completion date based on what is on the racks and sends the customer a ready notice. Your estimates per repair are recorded at the start. Before launch we play through an ordinary week, and a Saturday when a stream of while you wait jobs arrives alongside resoles promised for that day. Sharing work across several repairers and an alert when material for scheduled repairs runs out can be added once it runs.

Explore pricing and optionsDoes the completion date go on the customer's stub?
Yes. The date the schedule proposes and staff confirm is printed on the tear-off stub or the digital ticket. The customer has the same date as the workshop, and nobody has to write it down separately.
What if a customer needs their shoes sooner?
Staff can bring the date forward and see which other pairs move as a result. If it cannot be done without breaking another promise, that shows immediately. You can then say honestly whether it will work before the customer leaves.
Does the schedule account for drying and pressing time?
Yes. For each type of repair you record whether there is waiting time between steps. A resole with glue that needs to dry overnight automatically gets an extra day. The date becomes realistic without staff having to work it out.
Can we see how much quick work we do each day?
Yes. Because while you wait jobs are tracked separately, you see how much time they took each day. That helps decide whether to keep set hours or organise quick work differently. The system does not suggest anything; it shows the figures.
