Transport and delivery: Inventory software for piano movers
Inventory software for piano movers that tracks which protective covers, piano trolleys, grand boards, straps and stair climbers you have, which are reserved and which are checked and ready to use.
Where stock drifts for piano movers.
A piano mover has a limited set of specialist equipment. There may be one stair climber, two grand boards and a pile of covers and straps. On a busy day with two grands at once, it only becomes clear that morning that there is just one board in the store, because the other is still in a van. Straps wear out without anyone tracking how long they have been in use. The stair climber's battery has not been charged. You only notice such things when a crew is at a customer's door and cannot go any further.

Register equipment item by item
Every grand board, piano trolley, stair climber and set of straps gets its own record showing what it is, where it belongs and when it was last checked. Covers and blankets are counted by type. You know what you have and what needs attention, instead of relying on what seems to be in the store.
Reserve from the schedule
When a job is scheduled, the equipment listed in the quote is reserved. Two grand jobs on the same morning claim two grand boards. If there are not enough, the planner sees it while scheduling, not while loading. A stair climber already booked cannot be promised a second time.
Update returns and condition
After the job the crew leader reports what comes back and in what state. A frayed strap or a torn cover is set aside and removed from the available list. The stair climber gets a charging reminder. Every next job starts with equipment that is genuinely usable.
Alongside your purchasing and suppliers.
The overview of equipment usually lives in the owner's or an experienced crew leader's head, sometimes on a list in the store. Registering it does not require a special device: a phone with a simple list or scanning a sticker is enough. Reservations come from the schedule, return reports from the job card. The equipment belongs to the piano mover; a hired external lift is kept separate, with the hire company's details.
Reserve per job or fixed per van
You can give each van a fixed set of equipment or reserve what each job needs. A fixed set is simple, but expensive items such as a stair climber then sit idle in a van that does not need them. Reserving per job suits items you have few of; standard kit such as covers can stay in the van.
Maintenance by feel or on schedule
Straps and stair climbers are often replaced when they break. A check schedule tied to usage prevents a strap from failing on a staircase. The register shows how often each item is used and when somebody last inspected it, so nothing is taken out on trust alone.
Buy more or distribute better
If you regularly run short of a grand board, buying another seems obvious. Often, though, the boards exist but are in the wrong van or do not come back in time. The register shows whether it is a shortage or a distribution problem before you invest.

Grand piano boards, trolleys, stair runners, straps and covers are in the software from the start, reserved from planning and returned through the return report on the job card. We play through a normal day together, and a day when two grand piano jobs fall at the same time and a strap comes back damaged. A maintenance schedule per item, alerts when reserves run low and an overview of how often each item is used can be switched on whenever you like.

Explore pricing and optionsIsn't this overkill for a small amount of equipment?
The amount is small, but every item is critical. One missing grand board can make a job fail. That is why the register is light: a list per item, a reservation from the schedule and a short return report. Nothing more is needed.
Can we track when straps were last checked?
Yes. Each item shows when it was last checked and by whom. You can set an interval after which the item is flagged. A strap that has gone too long without inspection then stands out before it is taken on a job.
How do we handle a hired external lift?
It is listed separately as an external resource, with delivery date, hire company and confirmation. It does not count towards your own stock, but it is linked to the job, so scheduling and the crew know it is coming.
What if the crew forgets to report returns?
The item then stays reserved on the previous job, and the planner sees it has not been reported back. A short checklist at the end of the job card, which the crew leader has to tick off, keeps this from happening often.
