Food and specialist retail: AI enquiry assistant for juice producers
An AI enquiry assistant for juice producers that answers questions about bottle variants, recipes, shelf life and ordering using approved information, and hands uncertain cases to the team.
Which questions juice producers keep getting.
Juice producers get many of the same questions from cafés, shops and consumers. Does the apple and ginger come in a small bottle? How long does a bottle keep once opened? Is there added sugar? What is the minimum order for a custom label? The sales team answers by email or phone, often in between production and deliveries. A wrong answer about ingredients or shelf life can land a customer in trouble. At the same time it is a shame when a question about bottle sizes waits a day for a reply. An assistant should handle the standard questions with information the producer has approved itself, and pass on everything else.

Set the sources
The producer chooses what information the assistant may use: recipes with ingredients, available bottle sizes per recipe, shelf life and storage advice, delivery days and the terms for custom labels. Anything outside that, the assistant does not answer. A changed recipe or dropped size is immediately current for the assistant too.
Place and limit the question
The assistant recognises whether a question is about a recipe, a bottle size, shelf life, delivery or trade orders. On ingredients and allergens it reproduces the recorded information word for word. It does not answer questions about health effects, but points to the ingredient list and to a member of staff if someone wants to know more.
Answer or hand over
If the answer is in the sources, the assistant gives it with a reference to the recipe or size. If the question concerns a price, a custom recipe or a complaint, it passes it to the team with the enquirer's details. The visitor is told that someone will be in touch.
On your own information, with a person behind it.
The assistant works on the website and, if you like, in the chat tool you already use. It reads from the same recipe overview and size list as the website and enquiry form, so there is no separate knowledge base to maintain. The producer remains the owner of every answer. Handed-over questions arrive in the shared mailbox or overview the sales team already works from, with the conversation attached.
Consumers and trade together or apart
Consumers ask about taste and storage, trade buyers about sizes, delivery days and minimum orders. One assistant for both works if it recognises who is asking. Separate entrances make answers sharper but mean two sets of sources that both have to be right. Often it is best to start with one assistant and a question at the start.
Answer ingredient questions or pass them on
An assistant that quotes the ingredient list word for word helps most people immediately. For questions about allergies or medical diets, some producers choose to always pass them to a person. That is more cautious but slower. The choice depends on how completely your ingredient information has been recorded.
Information only or call-offs too
It is tempting to let customers place call-offs through the assistant. That would require it to handle quantities, cut-offs and exceptions correctly, and those involve human decisions. Call-offs therefore stay in the portal, and the assistant points customers there with a short explanation of how it works.
What the AI assistant may answer.
From the approved sources the assistant answers questions about recipes, ingredients, bottle sizes, shelf life and the conditions for custom labels; price questions, complaints and special requests go to a colleague. Together we put to it an ordinary question about a bottle size, and a customer who wants to know whether a juice suits someone with a specific allergy. An overview of unanswered questions and messaging apps can be switched on later.

Explore pricing and optionsCan the assistant answer questions about nutritional values?
Only if the nutritional values per recipe are in the sources. It then gives those values as you have recorded them. It makes no claims about health or effects. If someone wants to know more, the question is passed to a member of staff.
What if the assistant gives a wrong answer?
Because it only draws on your sources, a mistake usually sits in those sources. The conversation overview shows which answer was given and which source it was based on. Correct the source and the assistant gives the right answer from then on.
Can the assistant quote prices?
That is up to you. If you publish starting prices, it can mention them while noting that the final proposal comes from the team. It does not quote customer-specific prices or volume discounts; those questions are passed on so a salesperson can answer personally.
How do we see which questions keep coming up?
Conversations are stored with their topic and outcome: answered or handed over. The overview shows which topics come up most and which questions the assistant could not answer. That tells you which information is missing from the website or the sources.
