Transport and delivery: Customer portal for delivery and assembly operators
A customer portal for delivery and assembly operators where consumers and retailers follow the arrival window and afterwards see the completed items and anything still outstanding.
What customers of delivery and assembly operators want to see.
A consumer having a wardrobe delivered and assembled often takes a day off for it. They want to know when the crew is coming and whether the window still holds. With delivery and assembly operators, they call the shop for that, which does not know and calls planning. After assembly an outstanding item sometimes remains, such as a missing door or a shelf that needs replacing, and it starts again: when will it come, who will bring it? The shop itself wants to see which of its orders are being delivered today, which are finished and where something is still open, without calling about each one.

From invitation to approval.
Access for consumer and shop
The consumer gets a link to their own delivery, without an account. The retailer gets an account with all its orders, optionally split by branch. The consumer only sees their delivery; the shop sees all its orders, but no data from other shops and no internal crew notes.
Show window and status live
The consumer sees the confirmed window, the narrower slot the day before and, on the day, whether the crew is on its way. If the crew overruns, they see the new expected time. The shop sees the same steps per order, so it can answer its customer's question itself.
Show completed and outstanding items
Afterwards the consumer sees what was completed and which outstanding items remain, with the expected follow-up. The shop sees the same outstanding items, with photos and item codes, so it can send replacements. Anyone with a question asks it from the order, so the planner knows straight away what it concerns.
Less email, the same records.
Consumers currently get a confirmation email from the shop and sometimes a text from the operator on the day. Shops get exports or call. The portal uses data from planning and the assembly job cards, without new input from the crew. The retailer remains owner of its customer contact and can decide which messages its customer receives from the operator. Outstanding items needing replacement parts are handled by the retailer.
Messages in the shop's name or your own
Some shops want their customer to receive messages only in the shop's name. Others are happy for the operator to communicate directly. Messages in the shop's name keep the customer relationship with the shop, but need agreement on wording and style. That is a separate arrangement per retailer.
Live tracking or slot only
Being able to track the crew live reassures the consumer, but a crew spending longer at a previous customer then raises questions. A slot that is adjusted when things overrun is calmer and usually enough. Live tracking can still make sense in the last half hour before arrival.
Show outstanding items to consumers or not
A consumer who sees their outstanding items knows where they stand. At the same time, a shop sometimes wants to decide on a replacement or credit before the customer sees anything. A middle way is showing outstanding items once the shop has decided on the follow-up, with an expected date.

Consumers get a link with window, time slot and status on the day itself; shops see all their orders with completed and outstanding items in their own entrance. Access per shop is ready at the start. Beforehand we look together at a delivery without outstanding items, and at a delivery where a door is missing and has to follow later. Messages in the shop's name and an overview per branch can be switched on as soon as a retailer asks for them. That way the portal grows with what your shops want to see.

Explore pricing and optionsCan the consumer move their delivery through the portal?
They can request another day. Planning checks whether there is room, given crews and windows. The consumer gets confirmation once the new window is set. That is possible up to a certain point before delivery; after that it goes through customer service.
Does the consumer see the price of assembly?
Only if they ordered directly from you. For orders through a shop, the price runs through that shop and the portal only shows the service and status. What the consumer does and does not see is agreed per retailer.
Can shops close outstanding items themselves?
Yes, if the shop sends a replacement part or arranges a credit, it can close that item in the portal. If it needs a second visit from the crew, it goes to the planner. It is always clear who takes the next step.
What do shops see about their customers?
Per order the name, address, status and outstanding items. Personal notes the consumer gave the crew, such as a door code, stay with the crew. The shop sees what it needs to help its customer.
