AI automation: where do you start without turning everything upside down?

Start with the process that is most often left unfinished, not with the technology. That is how you choose a first automation that proves its value.

Most companies start with AI by asking “what can it do?”, and end up with a tool nobody uses. The better question is: which work is consistently left unfinished? That is where the first gain is.

Find the work that keeps getting left behind

Look at the past month. Which leads received a late response? Which proposals sat in draft for a week? Which reminders were forgotten? Recurring work with a clear trigger and outcome is ideal for automation, it happens often, follows rules and nobody enjoys doing it.

Starting small is not a lack of ambition

One working automation that saves four hours a week is worth more than a half-finished “AI transformation”. For one SMB service provider we started with lead follow-up only: +34% conversion and 8 hours saved each week. Expansion came later.

Keep a human in the loop

Define explicitly what may happen automatically and what an employee reviews. Critical steps, sending a proposal or promising a discount, get an approval button. This builds trust in the system while keeping control where it matters.

Curious what this could automate for you?
