Building a web app can cost €8,000 or €80,000. The difference is rarely ‘an app’; it lies in roles, data, integrations and exceptions.
What really drives the price
- Accounts and permissions: admin, customer, employee, partner.
- Data model: simple lists or complex relationships.
- Integrations: payment provider, CRM, accounting and email.
- Process rules: every exception must be designed and tested.
Start with a working core
A common mistake is building version one as if it already needs to be a complete platform. Better: make one workflow exceptionally good, then expand.
What is realistic?
An internal tool or portal often starts around €8,000-€20,000. A SaaS-style product with roles, payments and dashboards is more likely to reach €25,000-€75,000.
The best proposal is not the cheapest one, but the one that makes its assumptions visible.
